Re: I'd like to see...

There is an option pitch in the current version of PMFB, though admittedly, it could be improved.  From the doc:

Option Pass: To turn a pitch into an option pass, just add a zone. Select the player with the pitch instruction and click on the Zone button. Then, draw out a zone that the pitcher will "read" just before pitching the ball. If there is no defender in that zone, the pitcher will instead keep the ball and run.

Look for both of these instructions to improve in upcoming releases.

Re: I'd like to see...

Sure, it's in v2.3.  Try the steps in my previous post.

Re: I'd like to see...

Well, it is not mentioned in the manual and the zone button in the chalkboard editor is only for defensive players.
My version is 2.3 for Windows.

Re: I'd like to see...

Yes, it was accidentally left out of the doc on the v2.2 to v2.3 upgrade.  All of the documentation is online now and you can check out the latest Windows doc at:

The same text I mentioned above is there.  Let me know if you have any problems implementing the instruction as described.

Thanx, I made it!  :D
But no matter how I draw the read zone the QB always keeps  ???
Any suggestions?

Re: I'd like to see...

Without seeing the play, I can only guess.  The quick calculation the QB performs in deciding whether to pitch or keep is "at the moment the QB reaches the pitch point, if there are at least as many blockers as defenders in the box (that you drew) then keep it; otherwise, pitch it."  Hopefully that's how the instruction is behaving for you.

Re: I'd like to see...

Brian, as a Windows user the option command in 2.3 didn't really work as the QB (or player doing the option) will keep it no matter what.  2.4 it works perfectly and have been trying it out as of lately.

Re: I'd like to see...

Scan passing is an awesome weapon if you are doing it right...

If a QB is under duress he will throw to a player that has entered the last straight line of his route.

Brinkmann either accidently or purposely (either way I like it) engineered playmaker QBs under duress with higher agi than int to throw the ball very quickly while QBs with equal AGI and INT hold onto it a little longer trying to make a play while QBs with higher INT than AGI just plain stink at it and get sacked far too often because they want to be certain a player will catch the ball (ie they stink)

Keep practicing and messing with scans, it is a lot of fun and a great tool.

Re: I'd like to see...

And now for another I'd like to see (hopefully) ...

Any chance of making the game executable from the command line jumping directly to the game with the coin toss executing, and then the program closing itself upon conclusion?  In conjunction with this, accepting parameters for teams, playbooks, some of the criteria from the Game Options form, i.e., Commentary, Sound, Transcribe, Overtime options, etc.

The idea here is to programatically try different team player arrangements and playbooks without having to manually execute the games, then be able to review Transcribe files at a later time.
