AI issue: cannot change yards setting

I'm using version 2.5 on OS 10.6.8.

The AI screen for an offense play "Yards" setting has "255" on the low end and "5" on the high end. For a defense play, it's reversed. Neither one will allow me to change the yards settings. If I click on the up/down buttons I just get some kind of beep.

The other AI settings can be changed.

Is there a fix?

I'll look into it

I'll look into it, post a fix, and notify you when it's ready.

AI issue

I've seen that too. I think I accidentally hit the wrong "direction" on the yardage sending it below "0" to cause the problem, but I'm not sure.

Things that I've tried: 1)

Things that I've tried:

1) trashed the PlayMaker folder (holding the software) and the other folder (holding the sample teams and transcripts), reloaded the software, tried to re-register (but apparently the registration is still active because I forgot to trash other files like the preference), drafted a new team, then in chalkboard opened a formation, saved it under a different name ... it allowed for a yardage change in AI, BUT doing the same on defense and touching the Yard settings (initially at 0, 0) automatically changed the high given-up yards to "255". then the low, when touched goes to "5".

2) copied a play from "Badmen" into the new team, same result when attempting to change yardage.

3) opened up "Badmen" sample team itself, tried to manipulate yardage, same thing - goes to 255 and 5.

more attempts

Thinking that the issue was the administrative protection on my Mac laptop, I went into the "More Info" button of all the pertinent PlayMaker files and changed the access to "Read and Write" for all users (some were set to "Read Only") - that didn't help.

I've noticed though that on offensive plays, if I use the canned formations as the starting point for making plays (like Slot 3 formation for example), I can usually get the yardage buttons to work properly. But using the untitled form with all the players on the line (when the chalkboard editor opens) - then the yardage button doesn't work. On the other hand, using the canned formation on defense doesn't work, but if I import a play from one of the sample teams, then - as long as I don't make the yardage allowed be less than 0 it will allow yardage changes. If I make it go to 0, then it flips to the 255.

This is really getting frustrating now.

Fix uploaded

The bug has been isolated and fixed, and a new version has been uploaded to the site. Please download the latest version and let us know if you have any problems with this feature going forward.

fix made new problems

While the fix to the Yards setting was fixed, the new version introduced new bugs - the game clock is set to 1 min per quarter, and multiple testing of the same defensive play in the chalkboard editor will cause the linemen and any player given a "man" assignment to slowly drift out of the playing field with each test/replay.

The clock is the big issue though - makes the game unplayable.
