I was playing with the Chalkboard editor this weekend, and realized one thing I would really like is for a receiver who is running a pass route to make one of two moves depending on man or zone coverage. I don't know the technical feasibility of this but here is how I imagine it would work for the "coach".
The pass route would be diagramed as normal up to the point the receiver needed to make his "read". At that point the coach would click a bottom similar to the "read" button on defense. There would be for options:
Click one: Zone-Square out left / Man-Fly
Click two: Zone-Fly / Man-Square out left
Click three: Zone-Square out right / Man-Fly
Click four: Zone- Fly / Man-Square out right
The command on the player would look similar to the defense "read", only with two receive markers and a "Z" and "M" as appropriate. At the point of the command, the receive would read if he were within the boundries of a defensive player's zone. If he was he would execute the "Zone Route" as commanded. If he was not, he would execute the "Man route". Obviously, this would only be of value to a QB with a scan pass command, but that is something to be encourage in my opinion.
Again, I don't the technical feasibility. Just something, one use is interested in.
Good technical description; worth consideration.
Thanks Brian.
