OSX Version?

You are probably tired of this question, but how close is the OSX version? I am a long time fan of the game and would love to play again. I do not have Classic installed and so am looking forward to a native OSX version.

Re: OSX Version?

There are actually a lot of mac coaches in this boat.  Seems like OSX does not ship with "classic" anymore...

We are in danger of losing many long time mac coaches on this topic.

Thanks for your attention brian.

I've also heard from one of the all-time greats that this is the main reason he's giving up the game. To be honest, if I didn't have a PC at work, I'd have a hard time continuing to compete.

Re: OSX Version?

I am trying to 'come back' to the game. Not that I ever competed in any of the leagues or anything, I just like to play the occasional game. The computer AI is generally tough for me to beat (I understand baseball, football I only partly get).

I am sorry to hear that Mac players are getting left out but understand the market forces involved.  I guess I can only guarantee one sale for the OSX version and hope that is enough to keep the franchise where it started - Mac users looking for a good time... ;).

Woo Huh? (Was Re: OSX Version?)

Wow! What a day!!!

I just discovered that the OSX version has been released. I downloaded and installed the OSX version and tried to play it - no luck. I cannot get a game started.

After selecting New Game, it takes almost a minute for the team selector to appear and after pressing OK,  the game screen never appears.

This is on a 1 GB dual 2.7 GHz PowerMac with a 23 inch display.

Re: OSX Version?

Do you still have the Classic version on the same hard drive? If so, you might try the OSX version on a different hard drive. Oh, you should also try trashing the prefs file and see if that fixes the problem.

Re: OSX Version?

I do not have the Classic version installed. I did go ahead and delete the preference files (again) and this time it worked great. All is well now. I am confused but happy again.

where oh where

Is the mac 2.4 OSX version located for download these days... searched for quite a while and can't seem to find it. Found 2.5 which no league uses as it's still VERY buggy, and classic versions of 2.4, but that's all.
Trying to re-set up my second computer after the entire game function seems screwed, and I can't transfer my other version over to make it work... deleted preference files and everything multiple times, still same problem. Frustrating as it worked fine yesterday.
