How Do I Slow The Game Speed?

New guy here, I have a Pentium III 900MZ (not a rocket but fast enough) running Windows 2000 workstation and the game speed seems way too fast. It is difficult for me to watch and actually see the action. Is there any way I can slow the game speed down some??

The [ and ] keys slow and speed the game a little; the { and } keys slow and speed the game a lot.
