Fumbles = crossover dribbles

Is there a means of altering the way fumbles take place?  All too often, the RB, or WR is tackled, stacked up, the play is done, but he manages to fumble the ball, to himself.  Then runs with it for a very big gain.  Rarely do fumbles get recovered by the player who lost possession, and even more rare is the fumble getting scooped up by said player and carried for a bigger gain.

That's a sim-level issue and I'd would have to be addresses there.  My guess is that the player who fumbles (in real life) is usually on the ground and (1) unable to easily grab the ball, and (2) unable to get to his feet quickly to make much of a gain.  Add it to the sim-bug list.

Re: Fumbles = crossover dribbles

I think roughly half of all fumbles in real football are recovered by the fumbling ball player, however, only in extremely rare cases does that player advance the ball (was it Dave Casper of the Raiders?).

I would like to see the fumbling ball players that recover their own fumble be called down at the spot as they would presumably would be on the ground and I would LOVE to see kick and punt fumblers have their fumble be ruled down at the spot of the recovery regardless of who recovers (hate those durn special teams TDs)

I haven't seen the rash of TDs on punt and kickoff fumbles that you're describing. Yes, I've seen it occaissionally, but not where I think it's a huge problem. Do you have any numbers to illustrate your point? For instance, how many times has it happened in a season for a given league?

Re: Fumbles = crossover dribbles

#'s?  How about this?  It happens about a million percent more than it does in the pros or college.  ;D I don't  know about the exact #'s but I see it at least once for every game I prep (whether for me or against me) and see it a few tiimes a season in the league.  In the less than 50 games I've coached in in SPMFBL I have had it happen to me or for me at least 5 times (including my first ever game boo!)

Anyways, because I have i have been watching the NFL religiously since 82 and don't recall seeing any high/lowlights of it happening, I would have to assume that it happening 1X is too many.
